Saw Imah arrived at Equal Start when she was 10 years old. She had never attended school regularly and couldn’t yet write her name in English. Despite starting from scratch, she was full of determination and eager to learn.
With patient teachers and daily encouragement, she quickly found her stride. In just five months, she had caught up on two years of early education and began reading with confidence. Today, Saw Imah can carry a full conversation in English and proudly shares her dream of becoming a teacher — “so I can help kids who were just like me.”

Anam joined Equal Start 2.5 years ago as a quiet and withdrawn student. At first, he struggled to stay engaged in class, often keeping to himself. But with consistent support and encouragement, he gradually began to find his footing — especially in English, where his confidence and ability quickly grew.
Today, Anam is a standout in his class, known for his hard work and steady improvement. He takes his studies seriously, actively participates in lessons, and has become a role model for his peers. Outside the classroom, he shows the same initiative and sense of responsibility. During the school’s medical clinic, Anam volunteered to register families — a task he took on willingly and carried out with care.
